I’m gonna cone right out and admit the truth that I was a role player. I played and GM’ed at my old college club I discovered the great gaming community site, RPG.net, and found a forum entry created by a dude called Ab3. It was short for Alfred Bruno the 3rd. The entry was in the form of a script describing what had to be the worst group of RPG’ers ever. From Blobert Smith, a heavy set Goth to El Disgusto, a ninja happy Stick O’ Pain welding mental case, I cracked up with every tale of game sessions turned ugly!
Al’s site is still up and running, but imagine my surprise, when checking for new tales of the gaming group from hell, I discovered some of his stories were adapted into audio skits! Courtesy of the Role Playing Public Radio blog, here are the misadventures of Ab3 and the gang that couldn’t play straight. WARNING-Has some foul language-May offend gamers that take themselves WAY too seriously.
AB3 is amazed that his DnD campaign has lasted two months! But things are about to come to a brutally embarrassing end, thanks to the party splitting up and El Disgusto, a batcave full of guano and a torch…
An attempt by Blobert Smith to run a session of RIFTS in the middle of a Denny’s restaurant does not go well. Neither does Ab3’s attempts at being nice to a pretty waitress and the new guy’s relations with local law enforcement
THE DND ADVENTURE THAT MOSTLY WASN’T
A classic example of how player bickering can ruin a campaign
No Call of Cthulu game could be weirder than the one time Ab3 and the gang played the classic horror game with a really creepy GM that would give Lovecraft nightmares!
